Masum Miah, aged 42, has been named by the Metropolitan Police as the man who was shot and killed in East Ham. His death was confirmed at the scene on St Bartholomew's Road.

Officers were alerted to reports of gunshots in the area at approximately 03:00 BST on Tuesday. Mr Miah was discovered wounded inside a vehicle. Paramedics attempted to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the location. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that his next of kin are receiving support from specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Dan Whitten stated that the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made. He urged anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident, witnessed any suspicious activity, or possesses relevant dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage to come forward and assist the inquiry.
