Mayfair stabbing victim recovering after attempted robbery

A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, on the evening of September 3. The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at 9.38pm and found an injured man. He received treatment at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Arrest and Investigation

A 58-year-old man was arrested at the location on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and attempted robbery. He was also taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that enquiries into the incident are continuing. The London Ambulance Service reported that a paramedic arrived within five minutes of being called to Berkeley Square at 10.07pm.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that the incident appears to be isolated and there is currently no indication of an ongoing risk to the wider public.
