Stabbing victim leaves Brixton scene before police arrive on 4 August 2026

A stabbing victim left Windrush Square in Brixton before police arrived at the scene on the afternoon of 4 August 2026. Officers were called to reports of the incident at 3.32pm but found no one in need of medical attention when they attended.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the victim had already departed. A spokesperson said officers are now working to locate the individual, who has been identified. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Crime scene closed, no ambulance attendance

The police cordon erected around Windrush Square has since been removed. The London Ambulance Service told MyLondon it did not send any crews to the scene. Photographs taken at the time showed a red police tape stretching across the square.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “On Tuesday, August 4, at 3.32pm police were called to reports of a stabbing on Windrush Square, Brixton. Officers attended the scene, but the victim left before police arrived. Police have identified the victim and efforts are underway to locate them.”

The spokesperson added that no arrests had been made and urged anyone with information to contact the police on 101, quoting CAD 4259/4Aug.

The Metropolitan Police are continuing their investigation to locate the victim. Officers have not disclosed whether the victim sustained serious injuries or why they left the scene before police arrived.
