Stanmore crash: Man dies, three arrested
Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision involving a car and a bus on Honeypot Lane.
A fatal collision on Honeypot Lane in Stanmore has resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man. The incident, which occurred at 23:58 on August 30, 2026, also left the driver of a bus with life-changing injuries. Three men have been arrested in connection with the collision.
Investigation Launched
Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a crash involving a car and a bus on Honeypot Lane. Emergency services attended the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the car driver was pronounced dead at the location. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
The bus driver, a 44-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries have been assessed as life-changing. Police have arrested three men, aged 25, 26, and 51, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They remain in police custody.
Witness Appeal
Acting Detective Inspector Fiaz Janjua, leading the investigation, appealed for witnesses. "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the victim at this extremely difficult time," he stated. "While we have arrested two men who are in custody, the investigation remains at an early stage. As we try and build a full picture of this incident, we want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant information, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage."
