A teenager was stabbed on Wavertree Road in Streatham on the afternoon of 12 August. Police were called to the scene at 3:57 pm after reports of a knife attack near the junction with Streatham Hill.

The 19-year-old victim was treated by London Ambulance Service crews at the scene before being taken to hospital. A Met Police spokesperson confirmed his injuries were neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

No arrests made as police appeal for witnesses

No one has been arrested in connection with the stabbing. The attacker remains at large. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, 12 August, at 3:57 pm police were called to reports of a stabbing on Wavertree Road, Streatham. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a 19-year-old man for stab wounds before taking him to hospital.”

The London Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the junction of Streatham Hill and Wavertree Road at 4:00 pm. They sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene.

Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to call 101, quoting the CAD number 5079/12Aug. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.

The stabbing occurred close to Streatham Hill station, a busy area with shops and residential properties. Police have not released a description of the attacker.
