Thomas Carey named as man found dead in Clapham

Police are appealing for information after a 39-year-old man was found with serious head injuries.

A murder investigation has been launched in Clapham after a man was discovered with fatal head injuries. Police were called to an address in Poynders Road on Friday, September 4, at approximately 20:35hrs by the London Fire Brigade.

Officers attended the scene with the London Ambulance Service and found a man in his 30s suffering from serious head injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the location. The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Thomas Carey, who was from Lambeth. His family are being supported by specialist officers.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the inquiry, stated that thoughts remain with Mr Carey's family. She urged anyone who may have witnessed anything unusual in the area or has any information, however small, to come forward. Police are particularly interested in any CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam footage that could assist their enquiries.

As of the latest update, no arrests have been made. Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding Mr Carey's death are continuing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD7021/04SEP26, or to use the Major Incident Public Portal. Information can also be provided anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
