Wembley shooting leaves man in hospital as police close Kings Drive

Incident → evidence → outcomeA man in his 20s was shot on Kings Drive, Wembley, at 3.54 am on 20 August 2026. He was taken to hospital and remains in a non-life-threatening condition, Metropolitan Police said.
Kings Drive has been closed since the incident. Only residents are allowed to enter the street, which runs between Greenhill Way and Regalia Way in the Sudbury neighbourhood.
Police response and investigation
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who leads policing in Brent, said officers are pursuing several lines of inquiry. No arrests have been made.
“We understand that incidents involving firearms are particularly concerning for the local community. I want to reassure residents that specialist detectives are pursuing numerous lines of enquiry and are working at pace to establish exactly what has happened.”
A forensic tent was erected at the scene. Officers are stationed near the junctions with Regalia Way and Greenhill Way. Police presence in the area has been increased while the investigation continues.
