Young man fatally stabbed near Brent Civic Centre; Section 60 order in place

A young man has died following a fatal stabbing near Brent Civic Centre in Wembley. Emergency services responded to reports of an incident this afternoon. The victim is believed to be a teenager or a man in his early twenties. Police are currently undertaking urgent enquiries to identify suspects and establish the full circumstances of the incident.

In response to the stabbing, a Section 60 order has been implemented. This grants police enhanced powers to stop and search individuals and vehicles within the Wembley Park, Barnhill, Tokyngton, Stonebridge, Roundwood, Dollis Hill, Willesden, and Welsh Harp ward areas of Brent. The order is in place to help officers with their investigation and maintain public safety.

Police Appeal for Information

Superintendent Chris Clarke stated that the incident is being treated as an "awful incident, in which someone has tragically lost their life." He confirmed that officers are working to identify the victim and inform their next of kin. An investigation is ongoing to determine exactly what occurred and to apprehend those responsible. Superintendent Clarke acknowledged the concern this event may cause within the community and assured residents that police are committed to providing updates as their enquiries progress. He also noted that there will be an increased police presence in the vicinity.
