70 firefighters tackle Poplar flat blaze

Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were dispatched to a flat fire on Blackwall Way in Poplar. The blaze took hold in half of a flat on the 18th floor of a 22-storey residential block. London Fire Brigade's 999 control officers were alerted to the incident at 4:35 am on Saturday, September 12.

Crews were mobilised from multiple stations, including Poplar, Whitechapel, Plaistow, Stratford, Shadwell, East Ham, East Greenwich, Bethnal Green, and Greenwich. Firefighters remain at the scene.
