Cockfosters man charged with cocaine supply and weapons offences in Potters Bar

A Cockfosters resident has been charged with supplying cocaine and carrying an offensive weapon after police arrested him in Potters Bar last month. Sabael Jaho, 30, of Station Parade, was taken into custody in Park Avenue in the early hours of Saturday 1 August 2026.

Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed Jaho was charged later the same day. The charges include possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply, possession of a knuckle duster, driving without a licence, and driving while uninsured. He was released on bail and must appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 8 September 2026.

What the arrest means for Potters Bar

Police said the arrest removed cocaine and a weapon from the streets of Potters Bar. PC Jack Laycock, of the Hertsmere neighbourhood policing team, said the force remains active in the area. "A quantity of cocaine and a knuckle duster are now off the streets of Potters Bar," he said, as reported by the Barnet Post.

Laycock added that officers conduct round-the-clock patrols in the area. The arrest follows routine police activity, though the force has not disclosed whether the operation was intelligence-led or part of a wider initiative.

What happens next

Jaho’s first court appearance is scheduled for 8 September 2026 at St Albans Magistrates’ Court. The charges relate to events on 1 August, when police stopped him in Park Avenue. If convicted, he could face a custodial sentence for the drug and weapons offences, as well as penalties for the driving charges.
