Enfield man pleads guilty to encouraging sexual offences

Darren Conway, 52, of Lonsdale Drive, Enfield, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to sexual offences. Conway admitted to assisting or encouraging sexual offences, sharing intimate photographs, sexual assault, voyeurism, and possessing an extreme pornographic image at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, September 11.

Online Forum Uncovered

The charges stem from Conway's involvement in an online forum where videos of sexual offending and domestic abuse were shared. This forum was uncovered in October 2025, prompting a national investigation coordinated by the National Crime Agency (NCA). Intelligence gathered was then passed to individual police forces, with the Metropolitan Police receiving further information from Greater Manchester Police.

Evidence and Arrest

Officers identified Conway as a member of the group chat and arrested him on July 30. A warrant executed at his home resulted in the seizure of digital devices. Incriminating messages found on these devices revealed Conway encouraging other group members to engage in drug-facilitated sexual offending. Evidence also showed him urging another member to remove a sleeping woman’s clothing and underwear, commit sexual offences against her, and share images of the assault. Conway was found to have observed sleeping women through the online network more than ten times without their knowledge or consent.

Commander Andy Day of the Met Police stated that drug-facilitated sexual offending has devastating impacts on victims. He added that Conway's encouragement of sexual offending against unconscious victims put women at serious risk of harm for his own gratification. He urged anyone who believes they may have been a victim of sexual offending to report to the police, assuring them of support from specialist officers.

Prosecution and Sentencing

Tracy Easton, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South, described Conway's acts as vile and stated the determination to work with policing to bring offenders to justice. She expressed hope that the guilty plea would give confidence to victims of similar abuse to come forward. Conway is scheduled to be sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on October 30. Officers are continuing to identify victims from footage found on Conway’s devices, with offending believed to have occurred across the UK and potentially overseas.
