Omoniyi Peter has admitted to kidnapping a woman in Greenwich with the intent to commit a sexual offence. The 38-year-old, of Pyramid Close in Northampton, entered his guilty plea on the first day of his trial at the Old Bailey.

The incident occurred on February 16 this year. Peter, who is originally from Nigeria, had initially denied the charges before changing his plea.

Sentencing Adjourned for Public Danger Report

Peter was brought to the Old Bailey for sentencing on Tuesday. However, Judge Lynn Tayton KC stated that she could not proceed with sentencing until a report assessing the public danger he poses had been completed. The case has now been adjourned until January.

Addressing Peter, Judge Tayton KC said, "This is a serious offence, it not only crosses the custody threshold, but you are looking at a sentence of imprisonment."
