Two Tottenham men charged with death of Laura Sone-Demetrious on Great Cambridge Road

Two men from Tottenham have been charged with causing the death of Laura Sone-Demetrious in a crash on Great Cambridge Road in January 2024. Sedor Olmez, 20, and Roderick Mirzakhanian, 31, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on 7 August 2026.

The court heard that Ms Sone-Demetrious, 28, died in the collision. Members of her family attended the hearing. Neither defendant entered a plea during the brief appearance.

Olmez and Mirzakhanian are both charged with causing death by dangerous driving. Olmez additionally faces a charge of driving a BMW without insurance. The magistrates confirmed the case exceeds their sentencing powers and transferred it to the Old Bailey.

Both men were granted unconditional bail. They are required to appear at the Old Bailey on 4 September 2026. No pleas were entered at the magistrates' court hearing.
