Child taken to hospital after Croydon collision

A child has been taken to hospital following a road collision in Croydon on September 17. Emergency services were called to the junction of Arnhem Drive and St Edwards Close in New Addington shortly before 5:05 pm.

The child, believed to be around eight years old, was riding a bicycle at the time of the incident. Paramedics and London's Air Ambulance treated the child at the scene before transporting them to a major trauma centre as a priority. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the collision was not fatal.

Investigation and Road Closure

Arnhem Drive was closed in both directions between Central Parade and Milne Park East for over five hours while accident investigation work was carried out. It remains unclear if any arrests have been made in connection with the collision. Bus routes 130 and 464, which were diverted, are now operating as normal.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service stated: "We were called at 5.04pm yesterday (17 September) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Arnhem Drive and St Edwards Close, New Addington. We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road as a priority."
