Years later, staff at Manchester United's training academy recalled his performance, with Miklosko recounting a humorous exchange about their past frustrations.
Later Years and Fond Memories
Miklosko underwent an operation in 2021 to remove a hip lump. While radiotherapy initially aided a stomach tumour, he opted against chemotherapy for further tumours after consulting his doctors. In 2022, he returned to Banik Ostrava as sporting director and expressed a desire to continue working. Supporters at the club unveiled a banner in his honour earlier in 2025.
He often spoke of the similarities between Banik Ostrava and West Ham United, noting the shared mentality of their fans. Miklosko considered West Ham United his second family, appreciating that supporters still remembered him and sang his name after all those years.
