Surrey Police confirmed the charges on 29 July 2024. The force stated that the alleged offences occurred within its jurisdiction. Jackson, who is attached to the Metropolitan Police, has been released on bail ahead of his first court appearance at Guildford Magistrates' Court on 4 August.
No London link to alleged offences
The alleged crimes did not take place in London, and there is no indication they are connected to Jackson’s role as a Metropolitan Police officer. Surrey Police has not disclosed further details about the circumstances of the case.
The Metropolitan Police has not confirmed whether Jackson remains on active duty while the investigation continues. A spokesperson for the force told the BBC that it would not comment on individual cases but would cooperate fully with the investigation.
