Ealing police operation leads to drug charges and arrests

A three-day police operation in Ealing has resulted in one man being charged with drug supply offences and multiple arrests. The initiative, conducted by the Ealing Common Safer Neighbourhood Team, focused on suspected drug activity and cuckooing hotspots across the borough.

Drug dealing charges

On September 10, plain-clothes officers detained two men near Woodlands Park, close to the border with Acton. One of the men was found to be carrying 37 wraps of crack cocaine and 10 wraps of heroin. He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody for possession with intent to supply both substances. This arrest was part of targeted action at addresses linked to cuckooing and drug activity.

Community Protection Notice and further arrests

The following day, September 12, officers issued a woman with a Community Protection Notice after she was found consuming drugs outside St Matthew’s Church. The notice prohibits her from engaging in anti-social behaviour in the area. On the same day, another woman was arrested for breaching a court order; she was also found to be begging and provided officers with her correct details before being taken into custody.

Heroin possession and resisting arrest

On the final day of the operation, September 13, officers detained a man on Hanger Lane. He was seen walking towards a known drug dealing location and resisted arrest when approached by officers, leading to him being taken to the ground. A search revealed three wraps of heroin. A postal charge for possession of a Class A drug is being prepared, and he will be given a court date.

The operation included five stop and searches, four of which yielded positive results. It also resulted in one Community Protection Notice and the gathering of intelligence regarding cuckooing and drug dealing activities in Ealing.
