Man sought after upskirting incident at West Ham station escalator

British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following an upskirting incident at West Ham station. The incident took place on an escalator shortly before 8.30am on Friday, 24 July.

A member of the public reported seeing the man point his phone up at a woman on the escalator during the morning rush hour. The suspect then boarded a Jubilee line train heading towards Stratford and has not been identified or arrested.

Suspect description and police appeal

The suspect is described as a young man of slim build with a dark moustache and beard. He was wearing an Under Armour jacket over a grey top, grey workwear trousers, a black cap, and white wireless earphones at the time of the incident.

British Transport Police said the man in the image may have information that could assist their investigation. They are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward. The appeal was reported by MyLondon on 25 July.

Residents can provide information by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 137 of 24 July. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

What happens next

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not confirmed whether any further evidence has been gathered since the incident. No arrests have been made as of 25 July.

British Transport Police have not stated whether additional CCTV footage or witness statements are being sought. Residents who were at West Ham station or on the Jubilee line towards Stratford between 8.15am and 8.45am on 24 July are encouraged to review the released image.
