Nicole Beling, a 60-year-old resident of Dittoncroft Close in Croydon, was found dead at her home on the morning of 17 July. Police were called to the property at around 00:05 after a family member reported her missing.

Officers attended the address later that morning and discovered Beling’s body during a search of the property. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police confirmed her identity and said her family are being supported by specialist officers.

Arrests and investigation

A 61-year-old man was arrested at the scene on 17 July on suspicion of murder. He was released under investigation before being arrested again on 1 August. The man remains on bail while enquiries continue, the Met said.
