Tower Hamlets police find drugs, arrest two

Drugs found near canal
During patrols of Grand Union Place, officers from the St Dunstan Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) found a concealed stash of Class B drugs hidden behind benches near the canal. The drugs were seized by the Metropolitan Police. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated that similar joint operations would be conducted regularly.
Suspicious vehicle searched
In a separate incident, plain-clothes officers identified a suspicious vehicle near Sandalwood Close, E1. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of drugs, a baseball bat, and a mobile phone. These items are believed to be connected to drug supply activities. Two males were subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug possession, possession of an offensive weapon, and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
The operation involved a joint effort between the St Dunstan Safer Neighbourhood Team, Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers (THEO), and a drugs detection dog. Residents with information about drug dealing are encouraged to report it online via www.met.police.uk or by calling 101.
