Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has criticised fast-track courts for convicting domestic violence victims over unpaid household bills. He stated that women are being prosecuted for minor debts due to controlling partners or fleeing abuse, calling for urgent reform of the Single Justice Procedure.

The High Court has quashed the Parole Board’s decision to release Glyn Razzell, who murdered his estranged wife Linda in 2002. Judges ruled he was "fundamentally dishonest" for refusing to disclose where he hid her body, prolonging the family’s distress 22 years on.
