A 48-year-old woman died after a fire at a residential property in Berkley Avenue, Hounslow, in the early hours of 19 August 2026. Police were called to the scene at 01:14 and believe the blaze may have been started deliberately.

A second woman, aged 40, remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Nine people were taken to hospital following the fire. Six men and one woman were treated for minor injuries and later discharged, as reported by This Is Local London.

Police rule out wider threat

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the investigation, said the incident appears to be isolated. He stated, as reported by This Is Local London, "Our enquiries are progressing at pace as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fire, which we believe may have been started deliberately."
