Man arrested in Putney Bridge incident found dead

Nicholas Brandram, 44, was discovered dead at his residence in Chiswick on Tuesday evening. His death follows his detention on June 15, when he was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

Mr Brandram's arrest was connected to an investigation into an incident that occurred on May 5, 2017. On that date, a pedestrian was shoved into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge by a jogger. The Metropolitan Police had detained Mr Brandram as part of their inquiry into this event.

Family's Claims

The family of Nicholas Brandram have stated that he was not responsible for the incident, often referred to as the 'Putney Pusher' case. They claim that he took his own life due to the significant pressure he experienced during the Metropolitan Police investigation.
