Metropolitan Police seek men after violence during Arsenal parade

The Metropolitan Police have released images of men they want to speak to following multiple incidents during the Arsenal victory parade in Islington on 31 May. Officers made 29 arrests during the celebrations, 12 of which have resulted in charges. These charges include attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and assault on an emergency worker, according to reports by This Is Local London.

Incidents across Islington

The violence occurred at different times and locations throughout the day. At approximately 2.30 pm, a racially aggravated assault was reported against a woman on Upper Street. Later, at 3.15 pm, a vehicle was damaged on Caledonian Road. At 4.30 pm, a separate assault was reported against a woman on Highbury Crescent.

A later incident occurred at the Kings Head pub on Upper Street at 10.31 pm. This assault left two men with serious injuries. The Metropolitan Police have released images of six men they wish to identify in connection with this specific attack.

Ongoing investigation

More than 500 officers were deployed for the event, including specialist search and drone teams. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Coster said the force is continuing enquiries to identify those responsible for the offences. The police emphasised that the various reported incidents are not connected to one another.
