Stella Gollovena to stand trial for Covent Garden stabbing of four men

A 47-year-old woman accused of stabbing four men in Covent Garden will stand trial next year. Stella Gollovena appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 28 August 2026, where she faced charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

The incident took place in Endell Street, a busy area near Covent Garden’s tourist spots. Police were alerted at around 12:25 on the day of the attack. Two of the victims told officers they had been stabbed, while a fifth person claimed to have been injured but refused to provide a statement.

Victims treated for non-life-threatening injuries

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that four men, aged 34, 39, 42, and 56, were treated in hospital for stab wounds to their backs. All were discharged, and their injuries were described as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. A spokesperson for the force did not provide further details on the circumstances of the attack.

Gollovena was pursued and tasered by police at the scene. She did not enter a plea during her court appearance. The weapon used in the attack was identified as a pair of scissors, according to the charges.

Gollovena is scheduled to return to Snaresbrook Crown Court for a case management hearing on 25 January 2027. The provisional trial date is set for 13 April 2027 and is expected to last eight days. No further details about the defendant’s legal representation or bail conditions were disclosed.

Residents and businesses in Covent Garden have not been advised of any ongoing risks related to the incident. The Metropolitan Police stated that the investigation remains active but declined to comment on whether additional suspects are being sought.
