Teenager dead, man injured in Southall car crash

A 17-year-old boy has died and another man is in hospital with serious injuries following a car crash in Southall. The collision occurred on September 19 at approximately 1am on South Road. Ranbir Singh, aged 17, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old man sustained significant injuries and is currently receiving hospital treatment.

Driver Charged

The driver of the vehicle, Sukhveer Singh, 20, was arrested at the scene. On September 20, he was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving without a licence, and using a vehicle without insurance. Singh appeared before Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on September 21. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 19 at The Old Bailey.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Fiaz Janjua, from the Metropolitan Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, described the incident as "truly tragic". He stated that the investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances leading up to the collision. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, the manner of driving prior to the incident, or the movements of the Ford Mustang in the Southall area in the early hours of September 19 to come forward.
