Three charged after Abdulkadir Mahamed stabbed to death in Clapham street fight
Prosecutor says weapons were used on both sides of the early-morning confrontation near Tremadoc Road

Three men have appeared in court charged in connection with the death. Dvontre McCalla, 30, of Streatham, appeared at the Old Bailey on 4 August 2025 charged with murder. He was remanded in custody following a short hearing.
Javed Khan, 22, of Wandsworth, has been charged with murder and violent disorder. Adonay Berhan, 27, of Mason’s Avenue in Croydon, has been charged with assisting an offender, as reported by the Wandsworth Guardian.
Weapons used on both sides, court told
Prosecutor Rebecca Hummerstone told the Old Bailey that the fatal incident followed a large fight that broke out shortly after bars in the area closed. People were milling in the street when the confrontation began.
“There were weapons used on both sides of this particular incident and multiple injuries were caused to various people including this fatal incident to the deceased.”
Hummerstone said Mahamed was on one side of the argument, while McCalla and others were on the opposite side. Four other men attended hospital with stab wounds, none of which were life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Police investigation continues
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, said the day after the incident that enquiries were progressing quickly. Officers arrested six men on suspicion of murder, and the investigation into further suspects remains ongoing.
Lee said residents in the area would notice an increased police presence as enquiries continued. A provisional trial date has been set for March 2027 at the Old Bailey.
