Three charged with murder of man shot in Newham

Three more men have been charged with murder as part of the investigation into the fatal shooting of Masum Miah. Mr Miah, 42, was discovered with gunshot injuries inside a vehicle on St Bartholomew’s Road in Newham. Police were alerted to the incident by reports of gunfire shortly after 3am on August 18. Mr Miah was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Further Charges Laid

Leonel Friman Intasse, aged 18, of High Street, Sittingbourne, was charged with murder on Wednesday. He is currently remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday. Renars Ludins, 47, who has no fixed address, was also charged with murder. He was remanded and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, August 29. His next court appearance is set for the Old Bailey on Monday, May 17, 2027. Mihai Stancu, 36, of Charlton Crescent, Barking, faces a murder charge. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 9. His case will also be heard at the Old Bailey on Monday, May 17, 2027.

These three men join Sergiu Leahu, 40, who was charged with Mr Miah’s murder in the preceding month. All four men currently face murder charges and are remanded in custody.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Chief Inspector Dan Whitten, leading the inquiry, stated that thoughts remain with Mr Miah’s family during this difficult time. The Metropolitan Police continue to seek anyone with information that could assist their investigation. Witnesses or individuals with relevant details are encouraged to contact police by dialling 101, quoting reference CAD 797/18AUG. Information can also be submitted via the Major Incident Public Portal or anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Mr Miah's family are receiving support from specially trained officers.
