Bakerloo line attacker admits attempted rape

Vincent Saxon, 54, has admitted to attempting to rape a woman on a Bakerloo line train. He pleaded guilty to the charge at Inner London Crown Court on September 17. The court heard the incident occurred on July 11 at approximately 11.40pm.

The attack took place on a train travelling between Waterloo and Lambeth North stations. According to police, the victim was alone when Saxon approached her, exposed himself, and dragged her to the floor in an attempt to rape her. The victim fought back and managed to escape at Lambeth North station, where she alerted staff. Saxon then exited the train at the subsequent stop, Elephant and Castle.

Sentencing and reports

Saxon, who has no fixed address, was remanded in custody. The judge has ordered psychiatric and probation reports to be prepared before sentencing. Saxon is scheduled to appear for sentencing at the same court on October 30.
