A resident of Enfield has been ordered to pay £1,200 after admitting to dumping a large white fridge on Kenninghall Road in Edmonton. Gheorge Florea, 44, pleaded guilty at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court to breaching Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

The incident occurred on 14 January 2025, when Florea was recorded on mobile CCTV cameras abandoning the fridge from his white van. Enfield Council’s waste enforcement team used the footage to identify and prosecute him.

Council warns against fly-tipping

Maria Alexandrou, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for environment, said the conviction demonstrated the council’s commitment to tackling illegal dumping. She stated that fly-tipping would not be tolerated in the borough.
