Ali Fallahi, 46, of Ilford, has pleaded guilty to an arson attack that damaged a memorial cabinet in Golders Green. The incident took place on April 27 at the site on Limes Avenue. Fallahi admitted the charge at Harrow Crown Court on Friday. Counter-terrorism police investigated the fire.

Memorial Wall Details

The memorial wall was created by the Miga Rally community group. It serves as a tribute to individuals lost in various events, including a section dedicated to those killed during the Hamas attack on the Nova music festival in 2023. The fire, which occurred around 12.15am, was contained within a cabinet adjacent to the main wall. The Miga Rally group reported that the blaze was quickly extinguished and did not spread.

Court Proceedings

Fallahi, identified as a dual British and Iranian national, appeared before Judge John Lodge at Harrow Crown Court. He was granted conditional bail. The judge ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared before sentencing. The court was informed that Fallahi had pleaded guilty to a serious offence. Judge Lodge stated that granting bail was not an indication of the eventual sentence.

Sentencing for Ali Fallahi is scheduled to take place on October 16 at Harrow Crown Court.
