Lady Chief Justice joins Women in Leadership panel at Mansion House

The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, The Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, joined a 'Women in Leadership' panel event at Mansion House on Friday 11 September. The event was chaired by the Lady Mayor, Dame Susan Langley DBE.

The panel brought together three prominent leaders from the judicial, public, and faith sectors. Alongside Baroness Carr, the panellists included the Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service, Dame Antonia Romeo DCB, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally DBE. These women collectively represent the first to hold some of the most senior offices in British public life.

Discussion on Leadership and Change

The discussion took place against a backdrop of ongoing underrepresentation of women in senior leadership positions. Panellists explored themes of leadership, representation, and institutional change. They drew upon their personal experiences of reaching the highest levels within their respective professions.

The participants reflected on the opportunities and challenges encountered as some of the first women to occupy these significant roles. They also discussed their responsibility in creating pathways for future generations of women leaders.
