Investigation and Charges
The charges follow an investigation initiated by the Metropolitan Police in September 2025. Clarke, who resides in Kensington, was initially arrested on September 25, 2025, in connection with the inquiry. Following the submission of a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the CPS authorised the Metropolitan Police to proceed with the charges on September 9, 2026.
Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, leading the investigation, confirmed the charges. He stated that the women involved in the case are continuing to receive support from specially trained officers. Detective Superintendent Cagney also urged anyone who has experienced sexual assault to contact the police, assuring that information would be handled with sensitivity by trained investigators.
