Two teenage siblings from Hayes have been missing since the early hours of 17 August, prompting a police appeal for public assistance. Mukarma, 16, and her brother Muhammed, 14, were reported missing after their parents discovered they were not in their beds that morning.

The Metropolitan Police said the children left in a white Toyota Prius, registration KR10 NTF, which belongs to a family member. The car was captured on automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras at 11:24hrs on the A40 Oxford Road, near Gerrards Cross, heading west towards Beaconsfield.

Police describe siblings and express concern

Mukarma is described as Asian, 5 feet 3 inches tall, with a slim build and long, black, wavy hair often worn in braids. She has a dimple on one side of her face and may be wearing a hijab. Muhammed is Asian, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slim build and shoulder-length black hair. He often wears glasses.

We are increasingly concerned for the welfare of Mukarma and Muhammed due to their ages, the length of time they have been missing and the belief that they may be driving a car without a licence.
Detective Sergeant Gary Walker, Metropolitan Police

Detective Sergeant Gary Walker, who is leading the investigation, said the children’s vulnerability and the lack of contact since 17 August have raised alarm. He said there is a risk they may be driving without a licence and could now be anywhere in the country.

How residents can help

Police are asking anyone who has seen the siblings or the Toyota Prius to call 999 immediately, quoting reference CAD 2117/17AUG. Members of the public can also provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Walker said the investigation is at a critical stage. He urged anyone who may have offered the children assistance or accommodation to come forward, as even small details could be vital.
