A 38-year-old man died after a car and a bus collided on Gunnersbury Avenue in Chiswick in the early hours of 20 August 2026. The crash occurred at 12:20am near the junction with Gunnersbury Lane, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Emergency services were called to the scene and found three people injured. The man, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released, but police said they are supporting his next-of-kin.

Driver arrested on suspicion of causing death

The London Ambulance Service dispatched multiple resources to the collision, including crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer, and a hazardous area response team. London’s Air Ambulance also attended the scene.

The 24-year-old driver remains under arrest. If charged, he will appear at a magistrates’ court in west London. The next-of-kin of the deceased man have been informed, but his name has not been released pending formal identification.
