A 29-year-old man from Edgware has been sentenced to nine years and 10 months for causing the death of an 89-year-old pedestrian in Kent. Albert Matraxhiu hit Thomas Wallace at 76.5mph, carried his body on the car roof, then fled the scene. A passenger was also jailed for perverting the course of justice.
The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (Mopac) blocked a £50m contract between the Metropolitan Police and Palantir in May 2026, citing a 'clear and serious breach' of procurement rules. Palantir is suing, alleging the decision was based on ethics rather than procedure. A High Court hearing is set for January 2027.
