A 32-year-old man died after being assaulted on the eastbound Central line platform at Liverpool Street Station on 30 August. Police will apply to upgrade the charge against Jeremiah Maximo, who is due in court on 2 September. The victim was returning from Notting Hill Carnival.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct is investigating whether Met Police officers followed procedures after Simon Levy was released on licence in 2023. Levy, 34, of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, murdered two women and raped a third while on bail in 2025. The Met admitted remand failures at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.
