An inquest into the death of Franklin Francis, 56, has been adjourned pending the outcome of a criminal investigation. Mr Francis died in hospital on November 27 after sustaining traumatic chest injuries, including a collapsed lung, following an incident on November 25.
Beana Khan, 45, was found dead at her East Ham home on Katherine Road on August 21, 2026. Her death was discovered when her landlord, accompanied by bailiffs and a locksmith, entered the property to carry out an eviction. The cause of death remains unascertained.
An inquest has opened into the death of Masum Miah, 42, who was fatally shot while sitting in a car in East Ham. Sergiu Leahu, 40, has been charged with murder.

An inquest has been opened into the death of 13-year-old Faud Oladapo Adebanjo, who drowned in Royal Victoria Dock on June 29. The teenager entered the water to retrieve a football. A full inquest is scheduled for January.
A man has been charged with the murder of Masum Miah, 42, who died from gunshot wounds following a shooting on St Bartholomew's Road in Newham. Sergiu Leahu, 40, appeared before Bromley Magistrates' Court.

Police attended the Berwick Manor Hotel in Rainham on Saturday, August 22, after staff reported concerns about the presence of guns and knives. No weapons were discovered by officers, and no arrests were made in connection with the incident.

Police have named Masum Miah, 42, as the man found shot dead inside a car in East Ham. Detectives are appealing for witnesses and footage as no arrests have yet been made.

Eleven couriers, including four from London, have been convicted of attempting to smuggle £13.8 million worth of cannabis into the UK. The drugs were packed in 22 suitcases and seized at Birmingham Airport in August 2024. Sentencing dates are set for September and October 2026.
